Library
Granville Elementary School is a proud member of the Yavapai Library Network (YLN) through an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) and contract extending through June 30, 2025. This partnership provides our students with access to over 1,000,000+ items, including books, periodicals, electronic resources, and more from all participating libraries across Yavapai County.
In addition to benefiting our students, this collaboration also supports our teachers by providing valuable tools and resources to enhance instruction and promote student achievement. Through YLN, educators have access to a wealth of materials that help create engaging learning experiences and foster a lifelong love of learning.
Students in all grades attend library classes once a week where they learn how to find books, do research, learn about different literary genres, authors, computer searches and more. Read-aloud time is also a favorite activity.
Most of our books are color coded by reading level so that students may easily locate books that are a good fit for their comprehension. Books with a colored label have a Scholastic Reading Counts quiz available. More information about Reading Counts can be found through the link on the left.
The library hosts a Book Fair twice a year, once during fall parent-teacher conferences and once during Read Across America week in the spring. Thank you to all who support our library by purchasing books at our Book Fairs!
We look forward to helping your student(s) find fun books to read as well as those books for important research papers. Reading is the key to your child's success at school and in life.
