Principal's Message

Welcome to Granville Elementary School, an "Excelling School."

We strive to provide a well-rounded school experience for the whole child. At Granville, focus is centered on student achievement through data review of each child. Our teachers work diligently at providing research-based instruction based on current state standards. Teachers at Granville stay current in instructional practices through continuous professional development of their craft.

At Granville we have opportunities for children to develop extracurricular skills to compliment their academic abilities. We provide Physical Education and Music as standard courses for all students during the school day. In addition, we offer Art Club, Choir, Drama Club, Book Clubs, Conservations Core, Student Council, and Recorder Karate.

Athletic opportunities are also available for 5th and 6th grade students. We offer Co-ed Track, Volley Ball and Flag Football. Boys and girls basketball teams are offered separately. These teams compete district wide with the other 5 elementary schools in HUSD.

Throughout the school year we conduct Spirit and Pride assemblies in order to promote a sense of school and community. Our goal is to create a place where children say, “That’s my school…I belong there.”

Our school is a “Excelling School” according to our performance on the AIMS test as determined by the Arizona Department of Education. Granville is not only “Excelling” according to state testing but also in offering a well-rounded educational experience for our children. We are here to serve children and the community developing the future of America and the world.

I look forward to a fantastic school year and getting to know each and every one of you.

Go Geckos,

Bucky Bates, Principal
